We are happy to share some highlights of 2025! Enjoy the textile foto-feast!
Our shared-daily-repair work is a prescription that keeps us cheerful and optimistic. It’s like a ‘culture vitamin’, which incidentally is a real social program in Denmark. Through our blog and hands-on projects, we connect with you, our over 3,000 subscribers, and feel a real connection. Thank you!
It was a busy 2025!
- The energetic “State Fair” at the Renwick Gallery
- Extensive conservation treatment of five Frederick Worth gowns for display in Paris
- Two gigantic Civil War era flags
- Multiple quilt exhibitions
- Preparation of a handbag and child’s dress, with images of paintings, for the Grandma Moses exhibition at Smithsonian American Art Museum
- Annual visit from Smith College American studies students
- Multiple too-many-to-count customization of mannequins and fitting exquisite dresses at Marjorie Merriweather Post’s Hillwood Museum
- Repairing and preparing a custom form for President Andrew Johnson’s self-made jacket
- Several significant sampler collections which we tenderly cleaned, repaired and remounted
- Christening and wedding dresses, batiks, veils, lace, linens, crazy quilts, bandanas, bomber jackets, WWI nurse uniforms, numerous military medal ribbons, and even some tiny doll clothes and soft dollies.
- And we bid farewell to Kaitlyn and Annabel, and welcomed Oliver.
In appreciation, we wish you a healthy year of stitching, creativity and solidarity.
